Wedding DJ
A wedding is one long evening in several phases. The DJ's job is to hold all of them together.
Lydkontoret books DJs for weddings where the music is planned as an arc from arrival through dinner and speeches to the dance floor, and where the guest list spans several generations.
A musical arc across the day
- 01
Arrival
Quiet, warm music while guests gather. Present, but never in the way of conversation.
- 02
Dinner
A restrained selection through the meal, adjusted around speeches and pauses.
- 03
First dance
The one moment planned to the second. Track, cue and length are agreed beforehand.
- 04
Dance floor
The floor opens and the evening builds, with attention to the mixed guest list.
- 05
Late night
The last hours for those still there, where the room can be allowed to narrow.
Agreed long before the day
We settle direction, first dance, any requests and no-gos with the hosts well ahead. The DJ receives the programme, so speeches, cake and other set pieces are not surprises.
Venue and technical setup are covered in the booking. Barns, marquees, restaurants and rented halls each have very different acoustics, and we advise on what is needed.
The process is described in full on book a DJ. You can also read about hiring a DJ or a DJ for parties.
